First Segway lesson

This was when I had shoulder surgery. I had to wear an immobilizer for 6 weeks that strapped my arm to my body. For the first two weeks I couldn’t even lay down so had to sleep in a chair. Good times!
Ate at the new Lazy Dog by our house for the first time. 👍🏼👍🏼
Enjoying the sound of a gentle rain on the window this morning. It’s a bit unusual here because rain usually involves thunderstorms. 🌧 ☕️
Wispy clouds today. Our class of 2022 daughter is going through orientation and club rush this morning. Future college costs are beginning to loom large! ⛅️ 📷
Years ago when Fox broadcast English Premiere League games they also aired Sky Sports News. When NBC took over they dropped Sky making it much harder to keep up with the EPL from the US. To my delight I discovered this morning that NBC is now airing Sky Sports News. 😃 🎉 ⚽️
Had a chance to observe another armadillo on the trail this morning. It has not a care in the world. 📷
My daughter and I did a shift at the food pantry today. Unlike our previous shifts on shopping days, today was a receiving and restocking day. By the time we left the shelves were nearly overflowing. Lots of bending and reaching and now I feel sore. A good day.

Noticed today that iOS 13 won’t run on an iPhone 6 which means our teen daughter’s phone can’t be upgrade. Been contemplating whether that’s really a meaningful event. Security updates will likely continue for another 1-2 years I imagine. OTOH she’d love the camera on newer ones.

I have a perfectly functional USB-C hub now. But it definitely causes a cable clutter on my desk which has been annoying the heck out of me. Twelve South felt my pain and have made a better hub. Ordered one today and excited to end the clutter.
Today we drove to a peach farm. Came home with a load a peaches plus cucumbers, strawberries and jalapeños. One of those is not like the others… 🍑 🥒 🍓 🚙

I am on a liquid-only diet today due to a medical test tomorrow. The first half of the day I’m allowed to include bullion (so salty!) and soda pop (so sweet!). I’ll be glad when tomorrow comes. 🤐

The mail today provided some good news (vs the occasional bills). First, our insurance company sent a check saying we had been overcharged from some prescriptions last year. Second we got a substantial gift card to Target as a result of trading in expiring airline miles. 💵 👍🏼
Depending on how you look at it, I’m either starting the day off right, or completely wrong. ☕️ 🍩
I try to be conscious of what I do and buy in order to aid reducing climate change. But here in the US we need to work to elect more officials who will act.

Our 10 year old’s camp this week is Escape Room challenges. When I picked him up yesterday his team’s photo was taped to the door frame. Turns out they were the first place team. Monday’s rooms included a Fixed Mind vs Growth Mind theme.
At lunch today, my wife and I made our periodic 1 hour run to our favorite BBQ place in the countryside. We love their ribs and the homemade taste and style of the sides. The drive in the quiet of the countryside is a definite bonus. 📷 🚙
