The stores around us aren’t out of anything yet I see these dramatic stories about widespread shortages. Are they really widespread? Our local news isn’t reporting shortages either.

The sun is trying its best but it’s not good enough.

Today’s going to be a bit crazy. I have to run errands to 5 different places, do some work in our attic, and help my mother-in-law fill out some government paperwork. She lives with us and given how confusing the paperwork can be she doesn’t trust herself to do it on her own. I don’t blame her.
This is one of the most random things Amazon has shown when I opened the app. There are some rather investing reviews…
I got a new toy yesterday. It’s waiting patiently on my desk for me to run a coax to the attic and install a dipole. Hopefully tomorrow.
If quarantines spread I guess ARES will be activated. Tonight’s practice could turn real pretty fast.

I’m not looking forward to what seems like an inevitable “lockout” of people from school, work, stores etc (US). I suppose it’s the right action but the economic cost will be enormous. Can schools quickly go virtual? Will isolated, vulnerable people die from lack of care?

Children are naturals when it comes to taking a leap of faith 📷

These came from below, rose to our lips, and slipped silently down again. 📷

I was surprised to see the risk of dying for the youngest group was close to zero. In a lot of viruses the youngest are pretty vulnerable.
Note the data set is a couple of weeks old so the rates may have changed.
They escaped by managing their emotions together. 📷

That time we escaped to Iowa… and loved it! 📷

Our son’s morning hurdle - a double Freunectomy. He was pretty nervous but it went fine. He is kind of excited because he’ll miss his first day of school in a couple of years. 📷

I was seeing double when the stickers arrived.

Our dog at her watch station, keeping an eye out the window from our window seat. 🐕 📷

Our discussion with the kids tonight: If the choices are Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump who are you going to vote for and why?
Very interesting discussion ensues.

Progress on my long term effort to lose weight and improve my health

Time for my Skywarn training update. The season will start soon. ⛈

For some reason I always think this building has scales on the outside.

Best part of my birthday so far: our 15 year old daughter coming downstairs before getting ready for school to give me a big hug with an equally big smile. Worst part of the day having my car refuse to start forcing a rushed visit to the dealer. Aggravating but all-in-all it is still a good day.
There is a lot of outdoor open space at the district’s new STEAM center. It feels very peaceful - until a bunch of high schoolers show up 😉

Who could ever oppose Redemption? 📷 🥃

If you look carefully at the left photo you’ll notice a snake curled and coming down the tree trunk. I’ve highlighted the path in the right photo. I thought this rather cool because it isn’t a typical vine. I’m not really sure how this came to be. 🐍 📷

Per my smart scale I have been losing weight every month since April 2019. I’m down 14 pounds (from 160 to 146) or about 9%. It’s not dramatic but it feels very sustainable which is best. I hadn’t realized until today how steady my progress has been. So hooray for me. 🏆
