I think we Americans value independence a lot. It can be a strength in many cases but Covid has certainly shown it has weaknesses as well. We have to recognize a dependence on our neighbors especially in times of need is equally important.

We watched the final episode of Long Way Up on AppleTV tonight. The last couple of episodes were a fair let down vs the great start to the series. I don’t know if they didn’t have enough time for the trip or by the time they got to Central America they were too afraid to travel.
I wish I had a better memory of good things that have happened. I too easily remember the bad.

I had hoped we’d be able to take a short trip over the upcoming holiday break. But I guess we will drop that idea - Covid cases and hospitalizations around here are really spiking up. I’m even worried about a day hike because some of those places are mighty crowded.

Even taking into account the usual marketing hyperbole the M1 Macs are impressive. The first hardware delivers some nice advantages but its the strategic benefit Apple is driving that makes this something special when combined with the software initiatives.
Odd thought on my connotations: To be considered an elder (a senior, wise leader) is quite admirable. But being thought of as elderly isn’t (old and creaky). Elders may be old but aren’t elderly. Note I’m closer to elderly than to young.

The first months of Covid I did a good job keeping up my exercise routine. But the past 6 weeks I’ve had no motivation to continue and it is only by ocassional force of will I am getting any exercise lately.

Sony sent me an email saying I should go ahead and buy PS5 games now even though the console isn’t out yet. I find that rather irritating since everything I’ve heard suggests getting a PS5 console anytime soon would be like winning the lottery. 🎮
