After graduating HS Friday our daughter registered for her college classes this fall. She also signed up for a class, taken online, this summer. Since she took a dual credit class last semester that means she’ll start the fall with 2 classes already in the books👏🏼

We made Japanese Milk Bread for the first time today. It really is a great loaf of bread - plain or toasted. It is a lot of time/trouble sadly so although I love it we won’t be making it very often. 🍞

Now that our 18 yo daughter is starting her first job with benefits, I am explaining 401k plans to her along with the pros and cons of traditional vs ROTH 401ks. As soon as I mentioned “free money” I had her full attention. 😁

This morning the dew point was matched the temperature making the sky about as plain as it can be. The humidity was over 99%. My clothes got damp just from moisture in the air.

My wife knitted a combination of yarns into a textile rug. It turned out great!

We’re watching the Women’s Rodeo World Championship (DVR) and I am reminded how much I love watching barrel racing. Haven’t seen that for years. 🐎

We took advantage of a Memorial Day sale and purchased a new washer-dryer set. I would’ve preferred to wait until they broke but they’re 16 years old and supply chain issues mean stock of good replacements might be depleted if they broke. I guess this was a preventative purchase

Symmetry within asymmetry

So if you were wondering, our daughter’s high school graduation ceremony for over 1,500 kids took 3.5 hours (not including waiting time). We’re all a bit knackered after last night. It was fun seeing all the kids - amazing diversity.

As is often the case my second beverage of the day is a cup of black tea.

Another school year is “in the books”. Our daughter graduates HS tomorrow and has no classes. Our son has a half day scheduled but all exams and work are done, he has all A’s, and zero tardies and absences so we agreed to let him skip it. Nice for the parents too. 🎉

I’m not much of a dreamer. Rarely remember the ones I have. But today I’ve woken tensed up and weary over a long dream involving a fictional job jumbled up with home life and the need for self defense. Hopefully my actual day goes better than my dream!

My favorite morning indulgence ☕️ 🍩

Our 18 yo daughter, who graduates Friday, targeted Best Buy for her summer employer. She interviewed today and within 2 hours they called and offered her the job. Very proud of her for researching employers and going for what she wanted.

A rather random selection of beer on tap. In a convenience store near Flagstaff Arizona. I’ve never seen this any where else. 🍺

“To have and to hold”

My wife and I have been together for over 20 years. It’s been a joy filled relationship! 💍

Our dog had some skin spots removed today. Left side shows constant anxious movement with a cone of shame. Right side is with her “Bad Dog” t-shirt covering the wounds. She hates both but hates the cone the most. 🐩

I have these and many other ways to tell time. None manage to displace my Apple Watch, even for a day.

Just noticed the dust. Sorry about that.

My brother called today and told me his wife now has significant memory loss. Things discussed one day are forgotten by the next. I want to start learning about this so I can support him the best I can. Any pointers appreciated. 🧠

Clouds and a light pole

I just can’t go without something salty and something sweet to end my day. Not the healthiest habit but it sure is delightful.

This short run of metal fence is purely decorative. It does not divide the community 😉

I’m thinking of getting on the list for a Steam Deck™. Just not sure I want a handheld that is that large.
