Yesterdays’ webcam stand looked like a spool of thread so I quickly made a new on in TinkerCAD. Still functional and looks a bit better. Random seams in evidence.

🏗️ Modeling and printing a webcam mount to use with Octoprint

In my dream this happens: I create a post on iOS, hit a button, and it magically goes to both Mastodon and github pages with proper formatting (text and photos).

There are pieces of a solution but I have’t found a complete one.

This quick webcam stand I modeled and printed for use with Octoprint does the job though without elegance (I have yet to learn to design). By accident when printing this with a 6mm nozzles the result looks remarkably like a spool of thread.

Someday I will learn to use Fusion 360 or FreeCAD or etc. Someday…

🙃 Due to last week’s ice storm this is the first day of school in a week. I’m not ready for the old morning routine.

Well good morning! After 4 days of freezing temps and all that this was a welcomed sight.

Printing with Amolen Wood Filament for the first time - it has a sweet woodsy smell.

After 4 days of sub-freezing temps, sleet, freezing rain, snow and no school the temp has hit 50F today and the sun is out. Sure feels good! ☀️

Well public school just changed their mind and will be closed tomorrow, Friday. That makes 4 days in a row the ice has kept the kiddos home. But tomorrow will bring warmer temps in the afternoon and hopefully clear things up. Can’t wait to get out of the !&#)!% house even if it is just to get to a convenience store. 🏫 🧊

The number 1 reason I have kicked aside a number of the Mastodon apps is they don’t sync/remember my place in the timeline. I want to always have my timeline where I left it and I want it to sync across devices/apps.

I printed this Raspberry Pi 4 case that mounts directly to the frame of my Prusa MK3S+. The case was really well designed and mounted to existing M3 holes in the frame perfectly. Printed using Hatchbox PETG. 👍🏼

🥘 Checking our food supply due to multiple days of icy roads

These days of sleet have placed me in danger - danger of ODing on espresso. ☕️

Sleet and rain started yesterday and school is canceled today. The ice continued falling overnight and is expected to do so on and off throughout Wednesday so I’m sure school will be canceled for at least one more day. We’re all wondering if our daughter’s shift this morning will be canceled. 🤔

Long overdue print of tool storage for my 3D printer area. Saves space and aggravation.

I have a series of storage bins planned but I’m waiting on a E3D 0.6mm nozzle to arrive (will save a lot of time).

🥶 Temperature is in the mid 20F this morning and likely to stay that way. Too damn cold.

I’m contemplating what to do with my first 3D printer. Don’t have the space to keep it around, nor the inclination to try to keep it functioning properly. It wouldn’t be worth enough to ship it anywhere.

Today I discovered the OctoPod app (iOS, tvOS) for use with . Excellent way to monitor 3D prints. The tvOS app is surprisingly useful. Easy to see the camera and can leave it on while I work yet quickly see if the print has gone awry. Also it has some good built in notifications.
