You can’t beat a Science Museum that occupies a 10 year old for a full day - plus has amazing climbing towers like these.

Per the Guiness Book of World Records certificate, this guy’s head is the largest fossil ever found. Who says everything’s bigger in Texas? 🦕 📷

Hello sauroposeidon

Storms are moving through. Our house has a window seat that’s about 7 feet long with a comfy cushion. It’s a favorite spot to watch the world go by or sneak a nap.

A little fun at the local arcade after school yesterday. We decided to give the kids a treat since our son finished his standardized tests this week and our daughter has her finals next week. Air hockey is always a favorite.

Reflections on a muddy puddle.

Saw another armadillo by the exercise trail today. I guess they’ve taken up residence. 📷

Family dinner at our favorite Japanese restaurant in celebration of Mother’s Day. Simple elegant type decor.

It started raining about 5am accompanied by quite a bit of thunder and lightning. Nothing really threatening so it was an enjoyable storm. Only able to take a short stroll outside and met this little fellow. 📷 🐿

After a week of cloudy, rainy days a bit of blue sky on the trail this morning. But still mostly cloudy. 📷 ☁️ ☀️

This is our creek in it’s normal state //@smokey

This is the creek that runs alongside our exercise trail. 📷 🌳

In my silly little mind…
The majority of the flowers are saying “look at the sun over there”.
But the little group bottom left are saying “but this guy is taking our picture!”

Although armadillos are common in Texas, today was the first time in more than 10 years of exercising on our trail that I’ve seen one there. I actually saw two different ones in different areas. I didn’t want to disturb them so the photo isn’t very good (heavily cropped). 📷

There are a lot of booths surrounding the Wat. Almost all of them selling plants, produce and cooked foods. The long tubes are bamboo in which sweet rice has been cooked over a grill. There is also live music, a pageant and a parade (among other activities including throwing water at each other). Attending Songkran is a good chance to sample Lao street food without the long flight.

A few pictures of the small but ornate Wat. We arrived early so it wasn’t crowded yet (gets packed later in the day). The celebration pretty much takes over the neighborhood and the local homeowners participate by charging $10 to park in their yards.

Happy Lao New Year (Songkran)!

By tradition it was actually two weeks ago but we have a number of Wats in the area and they each pick a weekend in April to host a 3 day celebration. We made our annual visit this weekend (more photos to come).

In, well over, da’ hood 📷 🎈

Nearly 4” of rain the past two days and now this! 📷 ☀️

Early voting started this week for municipal elections (city, county, community college). There was no line but I was happy to see a steady stream of arrivals.

Now that’s a paint job!

N.B. It is not a functional car but a purpose-built structure for the art project.

I had no idea Apple was still using the old Mac OS smiling logo (been 6 years since I bought a Mac). For some reason this made me feel rather happy.

Seen on the box of my new MBP.
