Several automations I wanted are failures because (per the action notes) Safari web page items are only available when you manually invoke the Shortcut from the action menu. Invoking the same Shortcut using Siri fails 😩
iOS 12: Editing Shortcus is a hot mess for me. Crashing like crazy when editing Shortcut actions.
My morning playlist: Festival Bangers. Don’t judge. 😆 itunes.apple.com
My Micro Monday is @garciabuxton. I really enjoy her thoughtful posts and photo stream. She feels like a kindred soul.
Regarding replies, I often feel like I’ve become lazy when a short & simple response isn’t sufficient. I know I should write blog type reply but often can’t at that moment and am too lazy to come back to the subject later. //@macgenie
Ten years ago today
Most people take photos of pretty flowers. Me, I’m weird. And I didn’t see a dying flower. Instead I saw a blonde woman whose hair was being blown from behind by the wind. 🌸 📷

For you @macgenie
If you enjoy real-life mysteries this is intriguing. So much room to make up possible explanations. Initially I thought this would be explained within a couple of days but it’s become long running.
A solar observatory in New Mexico is evacuated for a week. No one will say why.
Ten years ago today we feared we had lost our little bun, angst that was amplified by the fact the previous pregnancy had resulted in a miscarriage. So glad the little guy was OK and has grown to be a blessing in our life.
My wife and I got two of the most wonderful emails from our 9th grade daugther’s math teacher. We’re going to float on cloud 9 for awhile. Proud of our chiclet. ♥️ 🧠

Ok (micro?) podcaster people I have a question. I’m considering doing a podcast with my 9 year old son. What is the simplest way to get started (record, post, maybe edit)? We have a Blue Yeti mic. Not sure I want to huddle around it but I imagine the iPhone/iPad mic is no good?

After looking into it I think I’ll have to go with the 44mm sized Apple Watch. My current bands won’t fit the 40mm model and I’m really fond of my now-discontinued leather band. N.B. I’m very happy they got rid of the huge red “look at me” dot on the cellular models.
Mind blown: adjusting depth of field after taking a photo.
Well, here comes the iPhone X update. Time to see if Apple can convince my wife and me to update from our current X to the Xs. 📱
When I bought my series 0, I nearly got the small model (38mm) because my wrists are not that large but the saleswoman pushed me toward the 42mm. Since the large model has gotten even larger I might go with a small (40mm) Series 4 as long as it displays the same amount of info.
In non-Apple news: I’m burning through my first Field Notes book much faster than I expected. They’re a great size and the paper is a joy to write on. That pack of 3 books isn’t going to last long! ✏️ 📓
Most of the attention is on the new 📱 but the product I’ll buy soonest is a new ⌚️.
My series 0 reminds me every day that it needs to be replaced.
If it weren’t for my Workout playlist there’d be no Workout at all.
My Micro Monday recommendation is someone who recently joined and I just started following. Check out @alexsavin!
First use of my Field Notes — in the field.
PSA: If you like the photos on micro.blog, check them out using the Sunlit app. They’re a little larger and zoomable in that app. And if you use Sunlit on the iPad the photos are much larger. Really lovely stuff.
