My “Now”: half of me is saying “time for a bike ride” and the other half is all “nah, time for a nap”.

I have to say Keyboard Maestro is a pretty slick piece of software.

Boiled snow crab legs in Cajun spice. So much spice while it was boiling I kept coughing. But it sure is good!

I think “smart” advertising is stupid and a failure. For me the typical scenario is: shop for something online (or in the Amazon app); buy it. Next day websites I visit, Facebook etc show me an ad for the thing I just bought. It’s often annoying and never generates revenue.

First time trying Tamanohikari. Usually stick with drier sake.

Based on some loving recommendations on my Micro.blog timeline, I purchased a Rhodia dot pad tablet. Looking forward to using it.

Wow. Just. Wow.

Also, two of my least favorites.

NRA gives Ajit Pai “courage award” and gun for “saving the Internet”

When I opened Things3 to look at my tasks for today, there was only a handful of items. I’m a task driven person so at a bit of a loss for how to spend my day (not there isn’t a long list of things I could do). Cold & rainy weather isn’t helping.

Pre-UIL Choir performance. I think the choir teachers are way more nervous than the kids.

HomePod owners: Is it true you can tell the HomePod to open an app on a paired AppleTV? E.g. “Open ESPN”? I saw one site said this was true, but the others I found don’t list this ability.

Listening to Mac Power Users podcast with Rose Orchard. Hearing them talk about awesome AppleWatch battery life has me quite jealous. My Series 0 can’t make it through the day any more. Kind of aggravating feeling the need to replace it after less than 3 years.

This is about as exciting as sports can get. Congrats to 🇺🇸🏒. Regrets to 🇨🇦, you played well. apple.news/AXbm63IogTK2NCifbLupqyQ

We’ve had a wee bit o’ rain. 6” in the past couple of days with rain continuing through Saturday. Speaking of degrees of separation: a couple degrees cooler and we’d be covered in ice.

I somehow imagine the choice of icons for the Micro.blog and Micron apps anticipated this relationship.

For those interested in automation and Workflow for task management, Things3 added cool new features this week which enable this.

The four of us.

Note the snow boots 🏝

Our next father/son Lego project. First time to build a motorized Lego (repost).

Is there a skill, activity or hobby you routinely omit, maybe unconsciously, when introducing yourself? I realized this morning I never tell people I’m an investor. Been one my entire adult life. It’s a hugely beneficial and under-rated skill. Schools barely teach budgeting.

Micro Monday: @cygnoir. Because I love libraries and librarians! 📖

Officially cut the cord today. I sure hate talking to “customer retention specialists”. Let’s hope the streaming services never go that route.

The Olympics isn’t boring. But the TV coverage of it here in the US is a total snooze fest. They need a version for people who want fast moving coverage.

I decided to try out HEVC/H.265 encoding on some videos. Definitely smaller but Plex absolutely chokes trying to play them. The InFuse app plays them well so it seems to be a Plex issue, not a hardware issue. Really don’t want to have to bounce between apps.

As is their custom, I imagine, as soon as they could the firemen pulled a few pictures and one photo album from the fire and set on the sidewalk. Today the family is going through the house looking for additional items they can save. Strength & Resiliency.

After the stress of this afternoon, a little Redemption.
