Not your usual fireworks shot
Not your usual fireworks shot
And a not-so-obligatory version of the fireworks 💥 shot. Our hotel really put on a great show. Quite impressed.
Obligatory fireworks 💥 shot.
Sitting on our hotel balcony as a storm rolls in reminds me of the only thing I miss about living in an apartment: sitting on our balcony as a storm rolls in 🤓
I somehow feel Independence Day 💥 is a good day to think about Indie blogs and micro.blog. Thanks @manton.

We’re heading out with the kids to San Antonio for the holiday. Here’s hoping the drive through Austin isn’t as bad as it usually is. I can hope, right? 🚙
Waiting for his dinner.
I was thinking about esports vs traditional team sports. Traditional teams are usually associated with a physical place: Yokohama Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Liverpool in the EPL etc.But I don’t think esports won’t have such geographical ties.I feel this is a bit of societal change.
Speaking of bad actors: ProtonMail has been offline for a couple of days due to a massage DDoS attack. Apparently Radware, which is supposed to be protecting them, isn’t doing a very good job…
@kitt My post was re: delivery, people transport. The world can be a mean & I haven’t seen what these cos plan to do about it. Unattended semi thefts are big now. These vehicles are going to be the same & I’ve seen nothing about prevention. Right now it’d be easy pickings
I’m seeing more stories about driverless delivery vehicles. Am I the only one who foresees tons of trouble for these? Set aside traffic accidents: graffiti targets, vandalism targets, hijacking, theft of contents, and ripping them apart of parts. Seems like gold for criminals.
My favorite Apple app is Numbers. For heavy corporate lifting Excel is #1 but for everything else Numbers is easier to use and looks 1000x better. It would be much harder to achieve what I do in Numbers using Excel.
I’m a planning and analytical nerd 🤓
Living in Texas makes me very thankful I live right next to a long heavily-shaded bike/run/walk trail.
Very happy to see that Apple has added a special Mid-Term Election section in their News app.
I don’t think I’ve ever looked forward to a mid-term vote this much. Can’t wait for November.
Swift Playground on the big screen.
Waiting for my Genius Bar appointment. Daughter’s iPhone 6 needs a new battery (hopefully that’s all). They’re doing a Swift Playgrounds class at the front. 👍🏻

I just saw that the MacPowerUsers podcast group on Facebook was closed and replaced by a discourse group. This is a good thing. I can start participating again.
My 9 year old son is watching a YouTube video that explains the theory of relativity and the scientific theories around the feasibility of time travel. 🧠
I know some of you are huge fans of voice assistants. Me, I would not book a hotel room that had this. No way I would trust it and doubt the privacy statement would be valid.
Alexa for hotels lets guests order room service, control in-room smart devices
One of the best luxuries traveling by car readily permits is taking your own pillow(s).
Our hotel just delivered complimentary bourbon to the room. Woodford Reserve and Makers Mark. My idea of a great freebie. 🥃
Apparently some sort of famous race happens here.
Not exactly a bucket list item but we can now say we’ve eaten at White Castle.
